Number One Machining is currently
working towards the C-TPAT
(Customs Trade Partnership
Against Terrorism)
certification.
The
goal of this program is to
encourage U.S. firms to
voluntarily certify as a
"trusted and secure"
importer of goods into the
U.S. Companies must
conduct a review of their
security procedures around
personnel, information
technology, shipping and
receiving, warehousing and
yard security, and other
potentially vulnerable
areas of their supply
chain. Firms must then
submit a comprehensive
application to U.S.
Customs and apply for C-TPAT
status.
If approved, companies
receive preferential
status with U.S. Customs,
including less inspections
and border delays for
their imports through the
U.S. border points and
ports of entry.
